Her name was Dahlia - the woman behind the inspiration of Caught in the Crossfire.

She and Noel had first met by accident. They had instantly hit it off together. She had a most likable personality and was also cute as a button. Her short hair, as black as coal, magnificently contrasted with her natural, ruby-red lips. They secretly dated for a brief period, if it could even be considered dating. When together, they shared topics of mutual interest and simply enjoyed wonderful conversations together. The risk that he was taking was comparable to that of walking a high wire without caring whether he’d fall or how he might land if and when he did. But Noel was foolishly falling for her and the landing was unlikely to be a pleasant one.

Early on in their rendezvous’, romance was held at bay between them, except for one particular time when they became semi-naked together in her car. She knew that he was married. Perhaps neither of their consciences would allow their actions to go any further than they had, so the idea of taking things further was zipped and buttoned up on the spot within the first few moments of passion.
